Foetal Development (Week 13-16)


WEEK 13

Congrats! You are in your second trimester

What is happening to your baby:
  • Weighs about 28grams
  • Fingerprints start appearing
What is happening to you:
  • You will feel less fatigue

 Week 14

What is happening to your baby:

  • Your baby starts inhaling and exhaling

What is happening to you:
  • Your energy levels will increase.
  • You may become constipated.
  • Your sex drive may increase



Week 15

By the end of this week you should have got at least an ultrasound scan done

What is happening to your baby:
  • Baby measures 12.5cm.
  • Lanugo (fine, downy body hair) covers the body.
What is happening to you:
  • Your breasts are becoming increasingly larger and heavier.
  • Chloasma (skin pigmentation) might increase. This is transient as it will disappear after pregnancy

Week 16

What is happening to your baby:
  • The baby measures 16cm.
  • Limb movements become more coordinated

What is happening to you:

  • You may start feeling your baby’s movement( QUICKENING)
